Opera Australia: La Bohème (2018)

Sung in Italian with English Subtitles, available as Closed Captions (CC)

Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour might take place in Sydney’s temperate autumn each year, but snow fell across the harbour in 2018.

That snow is an integral part of this spectacular, romantic and heart-wrenching staging by director Andy Morton of Puccini’s original bohemian love story.

Starring Iulia Maria Dan and Ho-Yoon Chung as Mimì and Rodolfo, the production is performed across a Parisian streetscape designed by Dan Potra, who returns to the harbour after his work on Turandot. Julie Lea Goodwin makes for a glamorous Musetta opposite Samuel Dundas as Marcello.
